Falkirk FC and the Falkirk Supporters’ Society would like to thank all fans who took the time to complete this year’s Bairns Survey which closed earlier this month.
A total of 1,300 responses were received, which represents a near 25% increase on last year and demonstrates another excellent level of engagement from our fanbase as we continue to work together to improve the club.
While the full results and all comments are now being reviewed in detail, and a comprehensive update will be shared with supporters towards the end of the season, we wanted to provide an overview of some of the key headline findings.
The results once again highlight the strength of the relationship between the club and its supporters. Over 85% of respondents (an increase on previous years) consistently agreed that the club has a strong orientation towards its supporters, listens to and understands the needs of its fans, and that supporters have a genuine influence on how the club is operated. As a fan-owned club, we are particularly encouraged by this feedback, which reinforces that supporters feel they have a meaningful voice and underlines the importance of continued engagement in shaping the direction of the club.
The survey has also identified areas where improvement is needed. Car parking received an average rating of 2.7 out of 5, while stadium access was identified (by a significant margin) as the area most in need of improvement. A number of comments referenced the ongoing works around the A9 development outside the stadium, and we will continue to engage with the relevant stakeholders to ensure these concerns are raised and addressed where possible.
Encouragingly (but not unexpectedly), matchday atmosphere, the quality of football, and most importantly the safety of supporters, all scored highly. Match atmosphere and quality of football were both identified as the areas least in need of improvement, underlining the strong position the club is currently in both on the pitch and in the stands. Supporter safety received a strong score of 4.3 out of 5, although we recognise that we can’t be complacent and recent events show the importance of vigilance here. Taken together, these results reinforce the aspects that should always matter most, the fans and the football, are performing well and continue to be a real strength for the club.
