Falkirk Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of CJ Fodrey on a season-long loan from Major League Soccer side Austin FC.
The 22-year-old winger becomes the second player from the USA to wear the navy blue following the signing of Jacob Murrell last week, and is John McGlynn’s 16th signing of the summer.
The Californian winger spent his youth career in San Diego with Albion SC, San Diego Surf, and San Diego Nomads, before making the switch to LA Galaxy’s youth setup. His college career spanned 18 games for San Diego State Aztecs, in which he scored seven goals and registered four assists.
After spending a year with his first professional club, San Diego Loyal, in the USL Championship, CJ was drafted 13th in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft by Austin FC. He has gone on to feature 50 times for the Texan side, scoring their biggest ever goal, a 120th minute winner against Minnesota United to send Austin to their first ever cup final.
The forward has also featured for Austin FC II, scoring 14 goals in 45 appearances.
