Falkirk Football Club is delighted to confirm that Craig Sibbald has signed a pre-contract agreement to return to the club in the summer of 2026!

The 29-year-old midfielder will rejoin The Bairns ahead of the 2026/27 season, bringing an exciting homecoming for a player who first emerged through the Falkirk Academy and became one of the club’s most recognisable modern-day talents.

Sibbald progressed through the academy ranks and the local Graeme High SFA Performance School before making his senior debut during the 2011/12 campaign. Over the next several seasons he established himself as a key figure in the first team, making more than 270 appearances for the club and contributing to more than 80 goals from midfield.

A technically gifted and intelligent player, Craig quickly became a fan favourite thanks to his creativity, work rate and eye for goal. During his first spell with the club he played a major role in a number of memorable campaigns, including helping Falkirk reach the 2015 Scottish Cup Final at Hampden.

After leaving Falkirk in 2018, Craig continued his career in Scottish football with Livingston and Dundee United, adding top-level experience before his return to The Falkirk Stadium this summer.

Manager John McGlynn said on securing Craig’s return:

“I don’t think Craig needs any introduction to the Falkirk fans. He’s a player that came through the youth system here before breaking into the first team, and he’s gone on to do very well wherever he has played.

“We are delighted to get him back to Falkirk, he was very positive as soon as we got a chance to talk to him with regards to coming here, and he showed real excitement and enthusiasm to be back at the football club.

“He’s an outstanding central midfielder with real experience at the Premiership level for many years. He knows the league inside out and it’s great we can continue to bring Scottish players to the football club, and not only that but a player who has been here previously, is from the local area, and is absolutely desperate to pull a Falkirk jersey on and give his utmost for the football club. It isn’t always possible, and we often have to cast our net further afield, but it’s great to bring one of our own back to Falkirk.”

Craig Sibbald said on agreeing his return to the club:

“I’m very proud to be coming back home where it all started. This club means everything to me, and I’m delighted sign a deal to return to my boyhood team that I grew up supporting. I can’t wait to put the Falkirk shirt on again and give everything for the badge. The opportunity to come back at this stage of my career feels right, and I can’t wait to get started next season!

“Once a bairn always a bairn.”
