Falkirk FC would like to thank the members of the Falkirk & District Art Club for their fantastic work on a new project which will bring a little more of Falkirk and the surrounding area into the YES Hire Fanzone.
Members of the group have designed and hand-painted a collection of barrel tops, with each piece taking inspiration from the Falkirk district, its history, and some of the area’s best-known landmarks and attractions.
The finished pieces will now become part of the YES Hire Fanzone and will be used in different ways across our events. For selected and premium events, the artwork will sit on top of the barrels throughout the venue, creating unique tables which celebrate the local area. On busy matchdays and other events, the pieces will instead be displayed around the walls of the Fanzone, allowing supporters to enjoy the artwork while helping us protect the pieces for future use.
The project has been a brilliant example of the club working alongside a local community group to add something genuinely unique to the Fanzone, while also showcasing the history and identity of the area we represent.
Speaking about the project, the Art Club members said:
“We all thoroughly enjoyed taking part in this project. We have all learned so much about the Falkirk district as we researched the topics for our designs and had a lot of fun coming together as a community of creatives to paint them. Thank you to Falkirk FC for this opportunity and we hope to continue the partnership!”
Everyone at Falkirk FC would like to thank all of the artists involved for the time, effort and creativity they have put into the project. We’re delighted to be able to give the finished pieces a home in the Fanzone and look forward to supporters getting the chance to see them for themselves at upcoming matches and events.
