FALKIRK FC DONATE UNCLAIMED 50/50 WINNINGS TO LOCAL CHARITIES

Falkirk FC was delighted to hand over cheques to various charities in the local area last week, totalling £2,830.Last week our unclaimed Behind the Wall 50/50 half time draw winnings were donated to Strathcarron Hospice, Maggie’s Forth Valley, and the Falkirk Football Heritage Trust.

A total of £2,830 was divided between the three charities following a Falkirk Supporters’ Society vote to decide where the money went, with 25% going to Maggie’s, 25% to the Heritage Trust, and 50% to Strathcarron Hospice.

Our Commercial Manager, Sean Skelly, visited all three to present them with cheques!

Claire Kennedy, Corporate Fundraiser at Strathcarron Hospice, said:

“I would just like to add our heartfelt thanks to all the Falkirk fans for this wonderful donation. This can provide two full days of care for someone around the clock who needs us, giving them specialist end of life care and helping them and their loved ones to make the most of the time they have left together.

“The fans also donated a further £1446 at our stadium collection in March which could pay for someone to receive Hospice at Home in their last two weeks of life, a service which allows people to remain at home, surrounded by everyone and everything they love. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support, thank you.”

Lorna Keddie, Centre Fundraising Organiser, Maggie’s Forth Valley, added:

“We are deeply grateful to have received 25% of the vote from the amazing fans at Falkirk Football Club, resulting in a generous donation of £707.50. This incredible contribution will enable us at Maggie’s Forth Valley to continue providing our unique programme of practical and emotional support to those living with cancer, and their loved ones.

We sincerely appreciate the community’s support and look forward to continuing our efforts to make a positive impact in the lives of those affected by cancer.”

Alan Brown of the Falkirk Football Heritage Trust, also commented:

“On behalf of the Trust, I would like to thank all those members of the FSS who voted for the Trust as a beneficiary for some of the unclaimed 50/50 prize money. These funds will go towards completing the heritage trail at the stadium and allow us to showcase the rich history of the club in the lead up to our 150th anniversary season.”
