The 18-year-old striker joins the Bairns for the 2025/26 campaign, bringing with him a reputation as an exciting attacking prospect.
A dynamic and versatile forward, Trey is known for his pace, physical presence, and eye for goal. Joining Sunderland at the age of 10, the 18-year-old has worked his way up the youth ranks, scoring 15 goals in 20 games across the under-18 and under-21 teams last season. Trey recently committed his future to Sunderland until 2028, with the Stadium of Light side seeing off rumoured interest from top Premier League sides.
Trey will link up with the first-team squad immediately for training this afternoon and will be available for selection ahead of tomorrow’s game against Aberdeen pending international clearance.
Trey will wear squad number 47 for the 2025/26 season.
Falkirk Manager John McGlynn said:
“Trey is a tall, athletic striker who is different from what we have at the moment in terms of his pace from that central area, he can link the play but also go in behind which is something that I don’t think we quite have at the moment. I watched recently in a game where he scored a hat trick. He took the goals extremely well running in behind on two occasions and finishing very well.
“He’s still young, at 18 he still has parts of his game to develop and learn about, and I think the experience at Falkirk will hold him in good stead. With any kind of loan deal, you need it to work for both clubs and the player, and that’s what we see happening with this move.
“I would like to thank Graeme Murty and Robin Nicholls in particular for all the help they have given us in getting Trey to The Falkirk Stadium. We’re delighted to be working with Trey for the season and I’m sure he will be a crowd pleaser.”
