Falkirk Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Finley Barbrook from Ipswich Town on a season-long loan, subject to SFA and international clearance.
The 21-year-old defensive midfielder becomes John McGlynn’s 13th summer signing and adds to the defensive options.
Finley joins from English Premier League side Ipswich Town, where he came through the youth ranks before signing his first professional contract in 2023. He also won the Academy player of the year award after being named captain of the U21s at 18 years old.
The Englishman comes with three years of EFL experience, having been on loan at Chelmsford City, Sutton United, Lincoln City and Colchester United, where he has made over 60 appearances and scored five goals across all four spells.
John McGlynn said:
“He’s one we’ve been chasing for some time, so we’re delighted to have him here. He’s a 21-year-old central midfield player who’s he’s 6ft 2in, and we’ve been crying out for someone with that kind of stature in our midfield.
“He’s had some good loan deals already, so he’s experienced at going out on loan. He’s got the size and stature that we’re looking for, and he’s a footballer who can play and take care of the ball.
“We’d like to thank everyone at Ipswich. Danny Searle, the loan manager, has been different class. We’re delighted to get Finley on board. He’s  another piece of the jigsaw puzzle that we’re putting together. We’re absolutely getting there, and we’re delighted with the signing.
“He’s one who is the glue that maybe just holds things all together and gets us clicking. That’s what we’re looking for, so we’re looking forward to seeing him play.”
Welcome to Falkirk, Finley!
