Falkirk Football Club was delighted to host an Iftar event in the YES Hire Fanzone on Sunday evening, which was the first event of its kind to be held at The Falkirk Stadium.
Members of the local community attended the stadium to break their fast as part of a gathering organised by the Scottish Asian Business Network, supported by the club’s event team and Falkirk FC Club Chaplain, Gregor McKay.
Many local businesses were in attendance, as well as representatives from the national media and local authorities.
As a fan-owned club, we place great importance on building relationships with everyone in our local community.
Gregor McKay, Club Chaplain at Falkirk FC said:
“Gatherings like this remind us that a football club is about far more than what happens on the pitch. It’s about people, relationships, and community.”
Oumar Akram, Co-Founder of the Scottish Asian Business Chamber, said:
“Being able to host the Forth Valley Iftar at Falkirk Stadium was a fantastic opportunity to bring together local businesses, community leaders and supporters under one roof. As a fan-owned club rooted in its community, it meant a lot to see the doors opened so warmly for an evening centred around unity and enterprise.
“Having the Leader of Falkirk Council with us really lifted the occasion, and hearing Allan Conry speak about business support and engagement with Stirling Council was impactful, particularly for the many local entrepreneurs in the room.
“For me, building the local ecosystem and creating clear pathways for business is vital. Events like this are about more than one evening, they are about strengthening relationships between the club, the council and our diverse business community. I hope we continue to see Falkirk supporters from our diverse local communities engaging with the club, and more local businesses building meaningful partnerships through it.”
