Falkirk Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Jay Hogarth on a one year deal, with the option to extend a further year.
The goalkeeper, who is the brother of Bairns number one, Nicky Hogarth, becomes John McGlynn’s seventh Summer signing.
The 22-year-old joins Falkirk following the expiry of his contract with Clyde, where he spent last season. Jay made 43 appearances for the Bully Wee, keeping 13 clean sheets and helping them to a third place finish in League 2.
John McGlynn commented on Jay signing:
“Jay is someone who we know very well through his brother, Nicky, and his father, Myles. He comes in as our third choice goalkeeper, which we feel we need. He’ll go back out on loan to play regular football, but he’ll be available for us if any injury situations arise with Scott Bain or Nicky.
“He’s another goalkeeper for training, which is very important. He’s been coming in once a week since the beginning of last season, which has been a big help to us and to Robbie Thompson, and he’s done very well.
“He played against us during his time with Alloa Athletic in League 1 and always performed very well. He’s played a lot of football since then and we feel there is potentially a long-term future for him here. We’re delighted to have him at the club.”
Welcome to Falkirk, Jay!
