Leon this morning signed the deal that keeps him in the navy blue until 2028.

The left-back joined The Bairns in the summer of 2021 and has gone on an incredible journey with the club after persevering through some tough seasons. Fast-forward almost five years and Leon finds himself with 163 appearances under his belt, becoming an invincible League 1 winner and Championship winner.

Leon has been an integral part of John McGlynn’s squad over the past few seasons, no more so than this season, with the 26-year-old taking to Premiership football like a duck to water, impressing many with his stand-out performances.

John McGlynn spoke on Leon signing the new contract:

“Leon has had an outstanding season so far, and we’re absolutely delighted that he’s decided to commit to the football club for the longer term.

 

“He’s been here a while, he was here before Paul and I came in, and he’s adapted every season. When we arrived in League One, he adapted to the new way of playing and the style we wanted, which involves the full-backs a lot. We ask them to get forward and contribute, and especially in recent weeks that’s really been paying off for Leon and for the team.

 

“He progressed from League One into the Championship and, like a few others, there were probably questions about whether he could make that step up. I think Leon has definitely done that. He’s excelled, and it’s a tribute to him that he’s performed so well. We’re delighted to be working with him for a further two years.”
