NEXT STOP: AIRDRIEONIANS (H)

The Navy Blue Train remains at The Falkirk Stadium for our third consecutive home game as we host Airdrieonians in Matchday 12 of the William Hill Championship.

Kick-off is at 3pm, Saturday 9th November. This Saturday we look to extend our unbeaten run to seven, and our win streak to four.

The Bairns are back to flying high after their comprehensive 6-0 battering of Greenock Morton last weekend and it was a performance that was overdue, considering the amount of chances the team has been creating recently.

For the last few weeks, right-back Keelan Adams has been threatening to score, finding himself in great positions but just couldn’t get tat first goal. It finally came on Saturday as he opened the scoring in the 16th minute, heading home Calvin Miller’s delivery from a free kick. The second came in the 37th minute and it was another header from another Calvin Miller cross. This time it was in-form Ethan Ross whose glancing header across goal beat the ‘keeper.

It was in the second half that the flood gates opened. Dylan Tait was brought down in the box after some nice footwork and Brad Spencer dispatched the penalty just one minute after the restart. Six minutes later it was four. After a headed clearance from the Morton defence, Ross cut the ball back into the box, finding Gary Oliver. Despite being surrounded by orange shirts, Oliver managed to find the space to shoot on the turn, rolling the ball into the bottom corner.

Two minutes later it was time for Calvin Miller to get himself on the scoresheet after already providing two assists. Assisting Calvin was the unlikely figure of Luke Graham who charged up the field before clipping a ball into the box. Miller did exceptionally well to get in front of his man and managed to get his head on the ball to tuck it away in the bottom corner.

The Bairns weren’t finished there, though, going on to make it six in the 81st minute with the team still attacking relentlessly. Leon McCann’s cross into the area was scrambled away but only as far as Brad Spencer, who lashed a first time effort past the helpless goalkeeper from 20 years to complete the rout.

Livingston only managing a draw with Queen’s Park meant that Falkirk’s lead at the top of the table extended to six points.

Airdrieonians’ form has been the complete opposite this season. Rhys McCabe’s side has only won a single game in the league so far this season and is currently on a four game losing streak. Like Morton, Airdrie also suffered a heavy defeat at the weekend, conceding four to Hamilton at home. The home side found themselves two goals down within the opening nine minutes before second half goals from O’Hara and McGowan sealed The Diamonds’ fate.

They remain bottom of the table with just five points.
