The next stop for the Navy Blue Train is The Falkirk Stadium. The Bairns return home for the first time since August as we host Ayr United in a top of the table clash!

Kick-off is at 3pm, Saturday 5th October.This Saturday The Bairns return home after five long weeks away.

It’s a top of the table clash in store as we take on league leaders Ayr United, who have started their 2024/25 campaign in fine form.

Falkirk go into Saturday’s game having finally lost a league match for the first time since April 2023. The streak of 43 league games unbeaten was the longest one on on record in Scotland outwith the Old Firm.

It was a hard-fought game against tough opposition, with just a penalty separating the two sides on a day where neither goalkeeper was especially troubled. Rovers’ number nine, Jack Hamilton opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 11th minute after Liam Henderson brought down Dylan Easton in the box. Ethan Ross came agonisingly close soon after when an incredible solo run from the half-way line resulted in his effort being deflected wide. Dylan Tait also came extremely close in the second half, but his header from inside the box flew over the bar. In the end, it wasn’t our day but everyone at the club can be proud of the unbelievable achievement. The streak starts again on Saturday!

Our visitors sit top of the table with 18 points, three point ahead of The Bairns who have two games in hand over Ayr.

The Honest Men are still unbeaten in the league and bounced back from two consecutive draws to beat Greenock Morton by one goal to nil at the weekend. Manager Scott Brown was dealt a major blow last week with in-form striker Anton Dowds being ruled out for the season with an ACL injury.
