NEXT STOP: DUNFERMLINE ATHLETIC (H)

The Navy Blue Train pulls back in to The Falkirk Stadium this Saturday as we take on Dunfermline Athletic.

Kick-off is at 3pm, Saturday 26th October.

This weekend we play our second derby game of the season as Dunfermline come to FK2.

The Bairns got back to winning ways last Friday as we began our second quarter away to Hamilton. After two draws in a row, Falkirk were looking to find their winning form again to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Four minutes was all it took for Falkirk to open the scoring, with Barry Maguire turning the ball into his own goal from Aidan Nesbitt’s back post cross. The Bairns then doubled their lead just before the half-hour mark. Calvin Miller loves scoring against Hamilton and Friday was no different. The winger cut in from the right and hit a powerful shot that deflected off the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. The ball was nicked off Brad Spencer’s toe for the first goal, but the stand-in Captain got himself on the scoresheet in the 34th minute. Dylan Tait was pushed over in the box by Jackson Longridge, prompting the referee to award a penalty kick. Brad’s initial attempt was saved but the rebound fell to him and he tucked it away for the third.

The hosts pulled a goal back two minutes after the restart when Euan Henderson tapping in a rebound following a period of good momentum for Accies. It would be the final goal of the game though, with Falkirk managing to see out the game for all three points.

Falkirk remain top of the table, four points ahead of Livingston who have a game in hand. Dunfermline, on the other hand, sit ninth with just six points on the board. The Pars hosted Greenock Morton last Saturday in a game that finished goalless, making it four league games without a win. Dunfermline will be angling for revenge after The Bairns left East End Park with three points at the start of the season after a dominant display.

Season ticket holders unable to make Saturday’s game can donate their ticket to the club for resale to allow fellow fans to attend. Returned tickets go on sale at 11am on Thursday morning.
