NEXT STOP: LIVINGSTON (H)

The Navy Blue Train pulls back into The Falkirk Stadium this Friday as we take on Livingston under the lights, live on BBC Scotland.

Kick-off is at 7:45pm, Friday 31st January. This weekend we’re back at The Falkirk Stadium for the first of two massive consecutive home games against third placed Livingston and second placed Ayr United.

First up is Livingston, as they make their second trip of the season to Falkirk for our 24th televised game of the past 2-and-a-half years.

Livingston remain the only team Falkirk have yet to beat this season. The first meeting between the two sides ended a goalless draw at The Falkirk Stadium, and the second ended in defeat for The Bairns, with Tete Yengi’s long range strike being the difference maker.

Falkirk got back to winning ways last weekend, when they got revenge on Raith Rovers at Stark’s Park after the Fife side put us out of the Scottish Cup the previous weekend.

After a run of three games without a win, The Bairns were desperate to get three points on the board to stay top of the table. They looked back to their usual selves, getting at Raith outset and scoring the opener in the sixth minute. Calvin Miller was brought down on the left wing prompting the referee to award a free-kick. Brad Spencer stepped up and delivered an in-swinging ball from deep, finding Liam Henderson at the back post, who nodded the ball back across goal and into the bottom corner.

Raith had a couple of chances, coming agonisingly close on one occasion when Dylan Easton rattled the crossbar with a free-kick from just outside the box. Falkirk controlled large parts of the game though, and the second came on the hour mark. A defensive mix-up saw Euan Murray head the ball to Ross MacIver, whose strike caught out Rovers goalkeeper, Kevin Dabrowski, who was out of position and unable to keep the ball from nestling in the back of the net.

The win keeps Falkirk two points ahead of Ayr United at the top of the table, with a game in hand against Airdrieonians still to play.

Raith Rovers bounced back from their loss last weekend by putting three unanswered goals past Hamilton Academical at New Douglas Park last night. The three points saw them leapfrog Greenock Morton into sixth place.
