This Saturday The Bairns return to William Hill Championship action as The Navy Blue train heads to Kirkcaldy for our second consecutive meeting with Raith Rovers.
Kick-off is at 3pm at Starks Park, Saturday 25th January. This weekend we return to our league campaign after a frustrating Scottish Cup fourth round exit last Sunday.
On Saturday, we travel to Kirkcaldy to face last Sunday’s opponents, Raith Rovers.
Sunday didn’t go quite as well as the last time Raith visited The Falkirk Stadium, when an Agyeman double and a Keelan Adams goal secured three points in the league. The Bairns return to Starks Park for the second time this season, having not been back since Rovers ended our unbeaten league run with a one-nil win back in September.
Falkirk, having been used to scoring goals and winning games for so long, find themselves on a run of three without a win in all competitions, after drawing two in a row prior to Sunday. We still remain two points clear at the top of the league table, with a game in hand.
Raith’s win at the weekend earned them a big day out to Celtic Park in the next round of the Scottish Cup. In the league, though, Rovers will be looking to move up the league table, where they currently sit sixth, five points behind fifth placed Queen’s Park and just one point ahead of Greenock Morton. After a shaky first half of the season, the Kirkcaldy side are now onto their third Manager of the campaign in Barry Robson, and looked to have regained a bit of form with three wins in a row back in December. A loss away to Ayr United at the beginning of January put a stop to their winning run.
