Next up for the Bairns is a home fixture as he host Annan Athletic at the Falkirk Stadium.
Kick-off is at 3pm, Saturday 2nd March. The Bairns prepare to face Annan Athletic this week with their sights set on three points and extending their unbeaten league run.
Falkirk managed to break their previous record of 26 consecutive unbeaten league games on Saturday with a one-nil win over Kelty Hearts at New Central Park. It was a difficult game that saw Falkirk under pressure from the first whistle. Kelty would have gone ahead in the opening 10 minutes had it not been for three or four brilliant saves by Nicky Hogarth. After weathering the early storm, Falkirk managed to turn the tide and ended up scoring the opener from a corner kick routine. Calvin Miller took the ball short before clipping the ball to the back post where Tom Lang rose highest to head home.
From that point onward, Falkirk looked a bit more like their usual selves and began to take control of the game. Things then got worse for Kelty a minute before the break when Craig Johnston was shown a straight red. The Kelty forward got involved in an altercation with Leon McCann, wrapping his arm around the Falkirk left-back’s neck before lashing out. Falkirk couldn’t get a second goal but never really looked troubled in defence either, managing to see out the game and take all three points. With results elsewhere going in their favour, Falkirk’s lead at the top grew to 17 points.
Annan Athletic’s recent form has been up and down. The Galabankies have won one and lost one for the last six fixtures and will be looking to keep the pattern going after suffering defeat away to Cove Rangers at the weekend. It was a game that Annan looked likely to take a point from when Michael Ndiweni levelled the scores following Rumarn Burrell’s opener. The hosts ended up stealing all three points though thanks to a Josh Kerr goal in the 86th minute.
Annan’s form has seen them pull further away from bottom side Edinburgh City to within seven points of Stirling Albion who occupy eighth.
