Next up for The Bairns is a return to the Championship as we host Partick Thistle at The Falkirk Stadium this Saturday.
Kick-off is at 3pm, Saturday 24th August. This Saturday The Bairns make a return to league action as we look to continue our winning start to the Championship campaign.
It’s been two wins from two so far, with wins against Queen’s Park and Dunfermline kicking off our return to the Championship. Last weekend we had what many were calling a “free hit” as we veered away from league action to host Premiership side Heart of Midlothian in the last 16 of the Premier Sports Cup. What a free hit it was too, with Falkirk producing another exemplary performance to knock Hearts out with a very convincing two-nil win, thanks to goals from Ethan Ross and Dylan Tait. What better way to build even more momentum going back into the League schedule than a comprehensive win against the side who finished third in the Premiership last season?
Partick Thistle will be aiming to claim their first win of the new season, having drawn their opening game against Greenock Morton and suffering a one-nil defeat to Raith Rovers at Starks Park the following weekend. Kris Doolan’s side have had a bit of extra time to prepare for Saturday’s game, having missed out on reaching the knockouts of the Premier Sports Cup.
Falkirk is the bookmakers’ favourite going into the tie, and should The Bairns win, they’ll make it 41 consecutive league games unbeaten. Whatever happens, it’s sure to be a thrilling game.
