Next up for The Bairns is our 2024/25 Championship opener as we host Queen’s Park on Flag Day!
Kick off is at 7:45pm, Friday 2nd August at The Falkirk Stadium.
MATCH PREVIEW
This Friday we begin our Championship campaign as we take on Queen’s Park here at The Falkirk Stadium.
The Bairns have built momentum during pre-season, topping Group B in the Premier Sports Cup after convincing wins against Dundee United, Buckie Thistle and Stenhousemuir. Our opponent’s also enjoyed a successful Premier Sports Cup group stage run, hammering Kelty Hearts, Elgin and Peterhead to progress to the last 16.
Falkirk will be looking to continue last season’s invincible league form as they begin their first Championship campaign since the 2018/19 season, while Queen’s Park will be aiming to improve upon their finishing position of eighth last season. The Spiders have added some experience to their squad over the summer with Cammy Kerr and Zak Rudden both making the switch from Dundee to Glasgow, with the latter replacing the outbound Ruari Paton who, having scored 17 and assisted five in the league last season, will be a big miss for Queen’s Park.
Falkirk’s summer business has included the signings of two new players in the experienced Michael McKenna and goalkeeper Jamie Sneddon. The most important business done by the club was keeping the invincible squad together, as well as securing 2023/24 loanees Ethan Ross and Dylan Tait on permanent deals.
With almost 4,000 season tickets sold, our full squad of invincibles and a great pre-season on our backs, we are now ready for our Championship journey.
All aboard the navy blue train!
