Falkirk Football Club is delighted to announce the season-long loan signing of Owen Eames from Derby County, subject to SFA and International clearance.
The 19-year-old joins the Bairns as John McGlynn’s 17th and final summer signing, putting pen to paper on deadline day.
Owen signs from English Championship side Derby County, having signed his first professional contract with the Rams in 2025, and making his professional debut with the club in 2026.
The midfielder has made five appearances for Derby County in the EFL Championship since his debut, and can play out wide and as a number 10.
Owen will wear the shirt number 42 this season.
John McGlynn said:
“Owen is a player that has been in and around the first team at Derby County, he’s been on the bench and getting off the bench in recent games, but with them getting another couple of signings in and they’ve allowed him to come up and play here.
“We like the fact he’s very tenacious and he works extremely hard. He can play across the midfield in all positions, he can play wide, or he can play through the middle, and he’s an infectious type of boy that presses the ball so well. If you go onto YouTube I’m sure you’ll find him scoring some really good goals, because he’s got that in him. He’s quick, he’s an exciting prospect, and we’re very grateful to have him here.
“I’d like to thank John Eustace, the Manager at Derby County, and Leigh Bromby, who were both with us all the way with this deal to get Owen up here. With him being on the fringes of the first team it’s obvious that Derby think an awful lot about him and we’re very grateful to them for allowing him to come up to Falkirk. Stephen McGinn did play in the same team as John Eustace a few years back when he was down in England and that little connection has helped us along the way in getting this deal for Owen.”
Welcome to Falkirk, Owen!
