Falkirk Football Club is delighted to announce that Scott Bain has signed a two-year contract extension, with an additional year option!
The goalkeeper put pen to paper this morning, signing the deal that keeps him at The Falkirk Stadium until at least June 2028.The 34-year-old has been in tremendous form this season since joining the club in the summer and has proved integral to Falkirk’s tremendous start to life in the Premiership, featuring in every league game so far this season and being named as Falkirk Carpets and Interiors Player of the Month for October.
Scott was rewarded for his fine league form with a call up to Steve Clarke’s final Scotland squad of the World Cup 2026 Qualification campaign that saw the country secure our first World Cup participation since 1998.
John McGlynn commented on Scott’s extension:
“To say we’re pleased to have signed Scott Bain on a longer-term contract would be an understatement. It’s great news – huge news. He’s been outstanding from the minute he walked into the football club.
“First and foremost, he’s a top goalkeeper, and he’s helped our defence immensely. He’s brought a real calmness to the back line and to the team as a whole, and he’s also an excellent character off the pitch. He’s been very good in the dressing room, bringing a lot of knowledge from his time at Celtic, where he worked at a high level for a number of years. He’s learned a great deal, and our players are already benefiting from that, and will continue to do so going forward.
“Everyone on the staff is absolutely delighted we’ve been able to get Scott tied down on this longer-term deal, and I’d like to thank the board of directors for making sure we could get it over the line. It’s a huge plus for everyone involved.”
Scott Bain said on extending his stay at Falkirk:
“I am delighted to sign this extension at the club. It was a no brainer for me and my family, I’m really enjoying life here, and I love working with everyone at the club, the players, and the manager. The way I see the game and the way I enjoy playing the game is the same as how the manager wants to play so I love the way we are on the park. I’m just taking it step-by-step, the same way we do on the pitch, and hopefully we can continue to have success both individually and as a team.”
