Falkirk Football Club is delighted to announce that Scott Tanser will join the club upon the expiry of his contract, subject to SFA approval.
The 31-year-old left back will arrive at the club on a two-year deal ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, adding another experienced and reliable option to John McGlynn’s squad.
Scott began his career with Rochdale and made his senior debut in 2013. Following a brief spell at Port Vale, the defender signed with fellow Scottish side, St Johnstone, and enjoyed a successful time in Perth, which included being part of their historic cup double campaign in 2020/21. Tanser signed with St Mirren in June 2021 and went on to make over 180 appearances for the club. This season he played a big part in the Paisley side’s Premier Sports Cup win.
Known for his ability to make an impact at both ends of the pitch, Scott will be a valuable asset as we head towards our second season back in the top-flight.
Manager John McGlynn said on signing Scott:
“Scott is an experienced left-sided defender who has made 321 appearances between spells at St Johnstone and St Mirren. His wealth of experience in the league will help us going forward.
“I’m delighted Scott has decided to join. He has shown his quality recently in the playoff games and other games at the tail end of the season. He’s an attacking left back who loves to get forward. He has good quality in the final phase of the pitch to deliver good crosses for our attacking players in the box. He has a good delivery from set plays, as he displayed in our last game against St Mirren at the Falkirk Stadium, with the Saints scoring from a corner.
“He is more than capable of moving into a left centre back position if required, so he is a definite advantage to us. We look forward to working with Scott when we return to pre-season.”
Scott Tanser added:
“I’m very happy to get this deal done, and I’m ready to give everything for this club.”
Welcome to Falkirk, Scott!
