Falkirk FC can confirm our ticketing and security measures for our final fixture of the season on 16 May.
Following an assessment of the match at The Falkirk Stadium on 12 April, the Falkirk FC has consulted a wide variety of stakeholders. The club board of directors has decided that the following measures will be put in place to mitigate the risks we identified ahead of the final game of the season:
- No match tickets for the North Stand will be released for general sale.
- There will be no ticket return process in operation for this match.
- North Stand Season Ticket Holders will be restricted to purchasing one additional match ticket, however the individual receiving the ticket must have their own Total Tickets account and purchasing history, which will be screened by club staff.
- Falkirk supporters who have purchased tickets for five or more home fixtures this season will also be able to purchase one match ticket.
All home match ticket sales will be completed in the Club Shop or over the phone, with no online sales in operation.
Additionally, in order to reduce the health and safety risk of spectators crossing the segregation area in the North Stand, a double segregation line will be in place. This measure is necessary to prevent sections of the stadium becoming over capacity, putting home and visiting supporters and our stewards at risk. Supporters with disabilities or mobility issues should contact supporter services for parking arrangements.
Falkirk season ticket holders must not transfer their seats to, or secure tickets for visiting supporters. Random ID checks will be in operation at the turnstiles. The club will consider taking appropriate action, including exclusion, against any season ticket holders found to have provided their tickets to visiting supporters, given the heightened security risk related to this fixture.
The club has requested that Police Scotland provides additional resources to ensure security and safety in the wider stadium footprint before and after the match. Plans are in place for additional fencing to be installed at turnstiles and nearby gates, in order to allow for additional soft checks and increased protection of entry points to the stadium. Stadium parking will be by permit only, with no pay on the day spaces available.
The club therefore urges all fans to arrive early. Falkirk FC will monitor the effectiveness of these enhanced measures and use the learnings in deciding arrangements next season.
Despite the challenges, this match remains an opportunity to come together and mark what has been a hugely positive first season back in the top flight. The backing from Falkirk supporters throughout the campaign has been outstanding, and it has been greatly appreciated by the players and staff. Let’s make the final day a celebration of that support and of the team’s efforts.
