UP NEXT: MOTHERWELL (H)

Up next for The Bairns is Motherwell, who we host at The Falkirk Stadium this Saturday

The Bairns gave a good account of themselves last weekend despite leaving Celtic park with no points. John McGlynn was looking for a good reaction following a couple of tough defeats, and his team certainly definitely delivered performance wise.

Despite the 3-1 scoreline, Falkirk were right in the game for large parts of it, playing well and creating chances. Two avoidable goals saw them go into the break trailing. They got themselves back in it with 20 minutes left to play, when Kyrell Wilson scored an outstanding goal. On the counter, Leon McCann picked the winger out with a pinpoint ball over the top of the Celtic defence. The on-loan Swansea man took an incredible first touch on his chest before firing the ball into the top corner on the half-volley.

Any hope that Kyrell’s goal gave the team and the Falkirk faithful was dashed by Daizen Maeda as he scored his second goal of the game in the 83rd minute to restore Celtic’s lead to two.

Our visitors this weekend come to the Falkirk Stadium on the back off a huge win against Rangers at Ibrox last Sunday.

It was a dramatic game that saw Motherwell go two-nil up in the opening 25 minutes thanks to goals from Lukas Fadinger and Emmanuel Longelo. Rangers, second time in recent weeks, came back into the game, scoring two in the secoind half, with Chermiti and Raskin getting on the scoresheet. As the game looked to be heading to a point-a-piece, Motherwell managed to steal it at the death, With Longelo getting his second of the game to seal the win for the Steelmen.

Falkirk have taken seven points from Motherwell this season, and will be full of confidence heading into this weekend as Motherwell visit the stadium for the second time this season.
