Up next for The Bairns is our first home game since the opening day of the season. We host St Mirren in matchday five of the William Hill Premiership.

Kick-off is at 3pm, Saturday 13th September.Falkirk return to action after a weekend off due to the international break, and return home for the first time since our game against Dundee United on the opening day of the season.

Despite having a weekend off, we head into Saturday’s match off the back off a huge win at Pittodrie the weekend before last.

With both teams still searching for their first win at the time, an open, exciting game was expected, and that’s exactly what we got. Aberdeen created a number of chances in the first half, but were unable to break the deadlock, mostly thanks to Scott Bain, whose incredible performance kept the scores level going into the break. The home side’s quest for their first win of the season, and first goal of the season, was made more difficult when Nicky Devlin saw red after VAR intervened when the referee showed the Aberdeen full-back a yellow for a dangerous challenge.

Falkirk saw their fair share of chances throughout the game, especially in the second half. Brad Spencer came close on a couple of occasions, but the breakthrough didn’t come until the 75th minute. Falkirk fans were excited to see what our new signings could do, and they got their wish when Kyrell Wilson came on in the 68th minute to make his debut. The winger wasted no time in making an impact, scoring to round of a brilliant passing move just seven minutes into his first appearance and sparking tremendous scenes in the away end.

After a win, a draw, and a loss in the Premiership so far, Falkirk sit eighth in the table with a game in hand still to play.

This weekend’s opponents sit two places below us in 10th. The Buddies have had a tough opening run of fixtures, playing Celtic, Rangers and Hibernian in quick succession, earning draws against the latter two after also drawing with Motherwell, meaning they go into Saturday’s game looking for their first league win of the season.
